Sometimes the gentlest words carry the firmest boundaries. I appreciated how this poem holds both tenderness and clarity without becoming cruel. A quiet but powerful piece.
Wasn't THING that disembodied hand on the Adams Family? Sounds creepy but to each his own. I've been known to be creepy myself but in a light hearted good way. Wasn't there an episode where the THING got his middle finger stuck in the air? Not sure. If not then maybe I am thinking with the wrong head tonight. By the way your photo is gorgeous!
Some doors
never open.
Not because
we weren't enough.
Because they were never
meant to become
our home.
The miracle
isn't hearing "yes."
It's waking up
one morning
and no longer
standing outside
knocking.
and thereβs more:
sometimes,
keeping the key,
closing the door,
remains an act of
love and kindness.

Feel so much heart, truth and vulnerability in this V π x
Thank you, sweet V π«Άπ

Thatβs an excellent way to put it. The boundary is out of love. π
No speaks louder than a storm at times. beautiful :)
Oooh, the βnoβ IS the storm. :) π«Ά
No is sometimes the best and only answer
βAmen.β π€
β Messirβ¦
she has a key.
β
I can see that,
Mortimer.
β
Do you think
she wants
to give it to you?
β
No.
β
Why?
β
Someone who intends
to give away a key
does not display it
for so long.
β
Then why
does she keep it
in sight?
β
To remind us
that the door exists.
β
And that it is
still locked?
β
No, Mortimer.
That it can only
be opened
from the inside.
Oh, this is delightful! Certainly keeping my key in sight. π
What a nice short poem, of concept of love
Thank you so much, Duncan π«Ά
